On Loving Minnesota: Reason #1

I need seasons. Minnesota has the best of both worlds. Sometimes four. In the summer, I can work from any patio, arrived at by bike or by foot, with fresh brewed coldpress and a little sunscreen. Sometimes there is live music. Sometimes it's in the form of a kazoo. In the winter, I can work from the comfort of my couch with a cup of coffee and a warm blanket. Pup curled by my side.

Building Community with Geekettes

For the last six months, I have been co-leading the Twin Cities Geekettes organization. We strive to get and keep women involved in technology, design, entrepreneurship, and innovation. On Safari. A Photo Safari.

Headed out to Minneapolis, St. Anthony Main area, Sunday night to join some other photographers in a photo safari hosted by Midwest Photo Safari. The safari hosts, Don and Rebecca, were very helpful in teaching some of the basics of night photography. In addition, they presented some historical info about the area. Gull Lake Classic Boat Show

This past weekend the second annual Gull Lake Classic Boat Show was held at Bar Harbor. The family boat, a 1976 Skiff Craft (below), was entered in the show. The day turned out to be gorgeous (even though a bit hot), and this gave me ample opportunity to take some photos of the other beautiful wood boats, some from early in the 20th century.
